Your Responsibilities

Our technicians look for all opening items (skimmer baskets, eyeballs, etc.) AND chemicals to be in an obvious location poolside. If your items are not poolside or where you stated on the opening form, we will use them off the technician’s truck and they will be added to the invoice. If a return trip is necessary because your items are not available/in an obvious location, a minimum fee of $110 will be incurred.

We do NOT add water to the pool during the opening process. Please ensure that the water level in the pool will be at or above mid-skimmer level prior to our initial visit. We may not be able to start the system if the water level is too low, and a minimum return trip fee of $110 will be incurred if we need to return.

We ask that you make sure there is clear access to the equipment pad. Please trim back any overgrown vegetation and/or remove any items not related to the pool system (lawn furniture, floats, etc.). This is very important to keep your system running properly and to make sure our technicians have room to work safely and efficiently.

Any interior breakers that are associated with the pool equipment MUST be flipped to the “on” position prior to our arrival. Additionally, please be sure there is a working exterior electrical outlet near the pool. We may need access to power during the opening process.

The cover must be free of water and debris or a $55 per 15 minutes cleaning/pumping water from the cover fee will be charged.

We will turn your salt system on but WILL NOT leave it generating as part of the opening process. The output will be left at zero to protect the salt cell. It is your responsibility to turn your salt system on once the pool is to maintenance stage. The water should be tested/balanced, and the salt level adjusted PRIOR to having the salt system produce chlorine to prevent damage to the control board. The water temperature must also be warm enough for your salt system to run or it can shorten the life of the cell.

Backwashing or cleaning the filter is encouraged between any return visits during the opening process. This will aid in clearing the water and promote good circulation of the pool. If you have questions about how to do this, please let us know.
